Practice & Game Information now online & updated!

All practice times & games are listed under your team through June!  MBYLL and FGLL have finalized their schedules and all games are "LIVE" under each team at www.dedhamlax.com.  This will be your most important resource for up-to-date information.  Always check for game information before each game.  When there is bad weather, DYL coaches will email parents no less than 1 hour before a practice or home game and 2 hours before an away game. 

The Boys teams have also started mid-week game schedule at the DCH Field.  If your team practices at DCH, please look to the schedule for a practice location change to the Bridge St field when there is a game.

Traffic and parking at the fields we use:  Please respect the posted 15 mph speed limit on the Nobles campus as you enter and exit the main gates and Bridge St fields entrance.  We are guests of the school and wish to use these fields for years to come.  Please also pick up your water bottles and make sure to leave with everything you brought after each practice.  Also, there is no parking in the Dedham Community House lot.  All cars need to park at the far end of the field in the DCH pool lot.

Dedham Youth Lacrosse participates as a member of the Mass Bay Youth Lacrosse League (MBYLL) for the boys and The Founder Girls Lacrosse League (FGLL) for the girls.  Both leagues have similar philosophies when it comes to teaching the game of lacrosse, focusing on the joy of the sport, and promoting good citizenship on and off the field.

MBYLL promotes the growth of the game of lacrosse throughout eastern Massachusetts by providing leadership, guidance, training and structure to anyone interested in lacrosse.  Member towns field all players as equally as possible with the goal of teaching the sport and providing a fun experience for all involved.
- There are no standings kept
- No league championships or playoffs 
- There are no “A” or “B” teams
- Players receive equal playing time
- Coaches receive educational support in both lacrosse fundamentals and positive coaching
- Rules are modified to emphasize sportsmanship.

FGLL was created to help elementary and middle school aged girls in our member towns learn to play and enjoy lacrosse.
- Honor the game by exemplifying its values of integrity, trust and competition
- Teams organized by school grade (1st/2nd, 3rd/4th, 5th/6th and 7th/8th)
- Balanced teams at each age level
- Emphasize skill building, teamwork, healthy competition and fun
- Promote equal playing time for all players
- Keeps game scores but does not post or publish them during or after the game
- Has no standings, play-offs or championships
- Adheres to a Zero Tolerance policy for misconduct of players, coaches & spectators

Former Dedham Youth Lacrosse players who have committed as lacrosse recruits to the following colleges for fall 2012, 2013 and 2014:

Congrats to all these players for their hard work in high school! They all got their start playing Dedham Youth Lacrosse. As we are aware of other players and their commitments, we will post and update.

The lacrosse season starts at the end of March and runs through the first week or two of June.  Teams are determined by the player's grade and age in the following teams:

- U15 team: players under 15 or who turn 15 in the calendar year of season & are in 7th or 8th grade.
- U13 team: players under 13 or who turn 13 in the calendar year of season & are in 5th or 6th grade.
- U11 team: players under 11 or who turn 11 in the calendar year of season & are in 3rd or 4th grade.
- U9 team: players under 9 or who turn 9 in the calendar year of season & are in 1st or 2nd grade.

Practices for boys and girls are on Tuesday and Thursday, roughly from 5:00pm to 7:30pm.  Each team will have either a 1 hour or 1 ½ hour practice each of those days.  

Games are played in Sunday and the season consists of 8 games with a season-ending Jamboree in mid-June.  During the season, look for your team's schedule under the 'Team' tab for real-time game information.
